
Emily joined Brightening Lives in 2019 as the Business Manager, overseeing and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the organisation. With many years of experience in the care sector, she has since progressed into the role of Registered Manager at Brightening Lives.
In her capacity as Registered Manager, Emily is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, person-centred support is delivered to young people with complex needs. She oversees care planning, monitors progress against individual goals and outcomes, and ensures that support strategies are appropriately reviewed and adapted. Emily works closely with staff, families, and professionals to maintain safe, effective, and compliant services that empower each person to achieve their full potential and live the life of their choosing.

I started working in health care 35 years ago. I qualified as a nurse in 2004 and returned to university to study neuroscience in 2008. I have also qualified as a mentor to student nurses, and I have taught NVQ candidates to medical students. I have worked as a neuroscience ward manager in the NHS as well as Clinical Lead Nurse in the community setting. I have a strong interest in the education and advancement of others who chose to work in healthcare.

An experienced social worker Jo uses her knowledge and experience of working with children and adult services in both the local authority and independent provider sector to develop and share good practice. Jo’s main aim is to make a positive difference in the way support is provided to people in what are very challenging times.

Becky has spent the majority of her adult life working in care, supporting individuals with complex health needs. She joined Brightening Lives as a Personal Assistant before being successfully appointed to the role of Administrator.
Becky is the first point of contact within the Brightening Lives office and is responsible for preparing the company rotas, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the business

A qualified teacher with 12 years experience in the education sector and 12 years experience utilising these skills in the care sector, Catherine has always placed the voices and opinions of those she works with at the centre of the work she does.
Supporting children and adults to feel empowered and to strive to achieve their personal goals, Catherine feels it is essential to provide an environment and ethos where everyone can thrive, whether they are part of a team providing care and support or receiving the support themselves.

Following a successful career in education settings as a play-worker and teaching assistant, Claire developed an interest in supporting people in mainstream settings with additional needs which she then utilised in her move to health and social care support in 2015.
As a team leader for Brightening Lives, Claire is proud to support individuals, their families and the personal assistants who work with them to get the very best out of the service.

Tabitha joined Brightening Lives in 2024 as a Team Leader. She brings extensive experience in care, supporting people with dementia in residential settings, as well as those needing palliative, end-of-life, and domiciliary care.
She is passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and outcomes, promoting independence, and ensuring they can enjoy life along the way.

Mark joined Brightening Lives in March after transferring from another part of the parent company due to relocating. He has spent most of his life working in care or support roles, often alongside working with horses.
He enjoys being out and about, arranging and taking part in appropriate activities for the individuals he supports, and isn’t afraid to get involved and share the experiences with them. He particularly likes trips to the coast and exploring activities further afield when time allows.

Toni has extensive experience in the care sector, supporting individuals of all ages with complex health needs.
In her role as Team Leader, she oversees and guides her team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, while promoting positive outcomes and well-being for those she supports.

Adam is a highly experienced care professional who has transitioned effectively into his position as Package Support Lead. In this role, he collaborates closely with the Package Team Leader to ensure the efficient operation of a complex care package, while providing focused support to enable the individual to achieve their identified outcomes.

My journey in community care is shaped by both my professional experience and my life as a mum to a wonderful daughter with autism. I’m passionate about inclusion, kindness, and empowering people to reach their full potential. Whether I’m supporting clients or baking something special, I lead with compassion and heart.

I am a dedicated and compassionate professional with a strong background in banking and leadership, now excelling in the social support sector. After several years in banking sector ,building strong relationship, and providing excellent service and communication, and people management skills, I transitioned into community support work to make a direct impact on people’s lives. As a Team Lead, I combine strategic thinking with empathy and practical experience to guide and empower my team, ensuring high-quality, person-centered support for clients.
