Who are we?


Brightening Lives Ltd is a brand new CQC registered care company, established in 2019 by people from different professional backgrounds who all share the belief that people’s lives shouldn’t be restricted through living with a complex health or social need. 


What do we offer?


Person Centred Care Across Yorkshire


Brightening Lives specialises in providing personalised care for children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities in their own homes and in the community. This includes support with:

Coronavirus 

(Covid 19) Update

We are working in line with government legislation and we update our policies and practices with any change of this guidance. We are fully stocked with all appropriate PPE and our practices are set up and managed by experienced clinical lead nurses.

Physical needs

Providing you with the support you require to make sure your physical needs don’t hold you back.

Complex care needs

From assistance to manage your medication through to support with tracheostomy care, and everything in between, we’ll manage the more complex side of your care so you can get on with the things that matter to you.

Behaviour & communication support

We recognise that no two people are the same and we will work with you to ensure the support you receive around any behaviour or communication needs truly reflects this.

Care around the clock

We can provide care from a few hours a week all the way up to 24 hours a day, just tell us what you need.

We offer support across Yorkshire and work with each individual to ensure the care they receive is carefully planned and personalised to fit the way they want to live their lives.

Brightening Lives also works in partnership with other local services that provide training and opportunities for people living with a variety of needs.

Brightening Minds offers training in health and  care related subjects including the Safe Administration of Medication, Moving and Handling, Person Centred Planning & Gastrostomy care.

Opening Minds is a social enterprise promoting equality for disabled people in local communities by offering organisations support and training from experts by experience.

Registered Manager / Clinical Lead Nurse

Clare is a registered nurse with 16 years experience of supporting people with complex health and communication needs. Clare’s passion for ensuring people are at the centre of their lives and that their voices are heard and listened to drives her role. Clare feels strongly that well supported teams provide the best support to people.

Catherine
Bursell

Team Leader / Training Lead
 
Catherine is a qualified teacher with 11 years experience in the education sector and 8 years experience utilising these skills in the care sector, Catherine has always placed the voices and opinions of those she works with at the centre of the work she does. Supporting children and adults to feel empowered and to strive to achieve their personal goals, Catherine feels it is essential to provide an environment and ethos where everyone can thrive, whether they are part of a team providing care and support or receiving the support themselves.

Jo
Martin

Nominated Individual / Quality Assurance Lead
An experienced social worker Jo uses her knowledge and experience of working in children and adult services in both the local authority and independent provider sector to develop and share good practice. Jo’s main aim is to make a positive difference in the way support is provided to people in what are challenging times for both health and social care services.
